Filling free time in a rewarding way

An 'Avenue' is how our volunteers see their work for Butterwick's three hospices, shops and lotteries. Because it's a two way street - the Hospices benefit, but so do the volunteers. They find new friends of all ages, work in a friendly environment, acquire skills and feel fulfilled and appreciated in a whole variety of ways. What's more, they thoroughly enjoy it!

What volunteering can do for you
Whatever your working experience or life experience, it can benefit others through the Butterwick. You'll find your skills and talents are respected and valued - and that does wonders for your self-confidence. Whether you're newly retired, or have not been working for some time, or perhaps newly on your own, then alongside rewarding work, you will also find a widening social circle through Butterwick.

We depend on our volunteers, and we desperately need more.
There's a whole range of openings for volunteers. You could choose something related to your previous work experience, or connected with a hobby or interest, or something you've never done before but would like to try. If you've got time to spare for something rewarding, we're happy to consider you.
